Satish Kumar appointed CEO of the Indian Railway Board.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) have appointed Satish Kumar as the new CEO of the Indian Railway Board. He will begin this important role on September 1, 2024, and will continue in this position until his retirement.
Additionally, they will re-employ him under a contract from January 1, 2025, to August 31, 2025. His contract will follow standard terms or remain effective until further notice per DoPT guidelines. Kumar will succeed Jaya Verma Sinha, who has been appointed as an administrative member of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).
Sinha will retire from the Railway Board on August 31 and start a new role at the CAT. She is the first female Chairperson and CEO of the Railway Board, enhancing women’s roles in government.
