Jay Shah wins ICC chairman role unopposed
BCCI secretary Jay Shah has been elected unopposed as the next ICC chairman, effective December 1. This appointment makes him the fifth Indian to hold a leading position in global cricket administration.
Shah, 35, has served as the BCCI secretary since 2019. He will succeed Greg Barclay, the current chairman, who is stepping down after choosing not to seek a third consecutive two-year term.
As Shah prepares to assume his new role, he will step down from his position in the BCCI during the Annual General Meeting, which is expected to take place either at the end of next month or in October.
